Analemma
If you record the position of the sun at the same time and from the same place every day for a year, a figure-eight shaped pattern emerges, known as an analemma. The artwork Analemma for VKR Holding in Hørsholm is an artistic interpretation of this phenomenon and consists of a glass installation mounted on the company’s building. Here, 46 unique glass objects form a figure eight – a symbol of infinity – thereby mirroring the Earth’s analemma. A pole, placed at a precisely calculated location, casts a shadow on the installation each day, and as the shadow falls on a new spot every day, it marks the passage of light and the days throughout the year.
Eight glass objects in the installation are designed differently from the others. These are diamond-shaped with a violet tint, marking important anniversaries for VKR Holding.
The Analemma installation was inaugurated in June 2025.
